Introduction to AssistList

What is AssistList?

AssistList Association is a charitable organization in British Columbia working to improve access to home health medical equipment.

We operate AssistList.ca, a free-to-use marketplace where people can buy, sell, donate, and find second-hand home health equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, and lift chairs.

Our goal is to help improve access, support independence and keep usable equipment in the community instead of going to waste.

How AssistList works

At its heart, AssistList is about connecting people and resources.

Connecting people with equipment

Someone may need a piece of equipment but find new equipment expensive without funding or difficult to access. At the same time, another person may have equipment sitting unused at home.

AssistList brings these people together through one free, community-focused platform.

Connecting people with community resources

Finding the right equipment is sometimes only one part of the solution. Through our Community Partners, we connect people with organizations, programs, services and information that may also be helpful.

Our goal is to build a stronger network of support around people who need home health equipment.

Who we support

AssistList serves a wide range of people across BC communities, including:

• Seniors and people with disabilities who need affordable home health equipment

• Individuals and families looking to sell or donate rehome equipment they no longer need

• Caregivers, support networks and healthcare professionals who help others navigate the platform and find the equipment they need
