AssistList was founded by Kevin Chow, an occupational therapist working in the Vancouver community. His job involves helping people find ways to safely manage their day-to-day activities, including recommending home health medical equipment. In meeting people of varying ages, disabilities and backgrounds, he has observed that getting home health equipment can be a costly endeavour. On the other hand, he also often encounters families who are looking to sell or donate equipment that they no longer need, but do not have an avenue to accomplish this. His vision is to connect these two groups of people, thus meeting each of their needs, reducing the amount of strain on their lives, and decreasing the amount of waste. Kevin shared his story with Tricia and Daruvin, who shared his interest in making a positive contribution to their community, and together they formed AssistList.
AssistList is a multidisciplinary team of volunteers, with backgrounds in areas such as health care, engineering, information technology, marketing, design, project management and accounting.
